Need For Speed Underground is a 2003 racing video game and the 7th chapter in the Need for Speed series. It was produced by EA Black Box and announced by Electronic Arts. Two various games were created, one for consoles and Windows, and the different for the Game Boy Advance.

In Underground rebooted the franchise, neglecting the past Need for Speed games which featured sports cars and exotics. She drops after she breaks her Honda Civic Si during the race, and her car is driven by T.J for himself thereafter and vandalizes. Very disheartened by the damage of her car to T.J, Samantha distances herself from the player.

The player ultimately keeps winning races given by Samantha's friends in her absence and later on faces T.J in Samantha's vandalized Civic. T.J misses the race and recovers the car to the player, who delivers it to Samantha. They rekindle their friendship and Samantha motivates the player to race Eddie and destroy him once and for all. Eddie challenges the player to a sprint race and loses while the player's crew is about to celebrate, a mysterious grey Nissan 350Z challenges the player to a final race. The player races the 350Z and wins while the others celebrate his victory, the driver of the 350Z is exhibited to be Melissa.

 


A circuit is a usual a race that means racing with up to 3 opponent's cars around a circle route for 1 round or more and is the main mode of the game. For about the last 4 races of underground mode, the number of players reduces to only 1 rival, and the number of rounds reaches up to 7.

Knockout Mode is related to previous Need for Speed titles and involves knocking out the last racer who passes the starting line in each lap until the final leader of the race continues, and wins the race. In Underground, Knockout sessions have a maximum of 3 rounds for 4 racers.

Sprint mode is a change on the Circuit mode, where the contestant races in a point-to-point route instead of loop routes. These matches are typically smaller than circuits, so players are obliged to be more careful of any mistakes during racing, such as crashing into obstacles or vehicles.

Drifting is the various challenging and technical phases of the game. Drift mode consists of one player in a short circle route, where the objective is to assemble as usual points as possible by drifting with the track. The player competes with 3 other participants, they appear to gain scores with the player when the drift session. The player would be required to beat these scores to obtain top positions.

Drag racing is a secondary common special form of race in the game. It includes racing against one or three cars on typically straight paths and trying to obtain top places to win. Players are limited to use manual transmission in the mode. To understand Drag mode, players must utilize great timing and reflexes for gear shifting, redlining, overtaking, and the usage of nitrous oxide boost. Because the player is moving to install the engine to its limits the mode places special importance on monitoring the tachometer and the engine temperature when races, which is enlarged and located on the leftmost part of the screen.
